Dragon squats always eluded me, being a very challenging combination of strength, mobility, and coordination.

Jon’s well-structured program and hands-on support worked miracles in 4 short weeks. I finally have a dragon squat! and dare I say it, it feels fluid and comfortable too!

Jon is a master at designing the perfect program and also designing the perfect experience.

Not only did I achieve the dragon squat right on queue when all pieces were in place, but I did so while feeling like I was doing something meaningful and epic.

The program was very helpful to me. On-point exercises with detailed advice for focal points in every exercise. I'm surprised I've gotten this far in just four weeks.

With Dragon Squat 101, I have developed my practice (on both legs) to gain proficiency in the Dragon Squat and, thanks to Jon, have the knowledge to keep my Dragon Squat practice going far into the future.

As Above, So below was such a beautifully thoughtful course with layers of simplicity that surprise you when you can handle complexity at the end. Jon’s courses are so well thought out and this is no exception. Squatting and hanging are so fundamental to movement but for those without much experience it’s very accessible and plants seeds that will bloom all throughout your movement journey. For the seasoned mover sometimes you’ve done all the planting you need and it’s time to start weeding the garden. As above, so below is the weeding for that garden. If you’re interested in improving your movement or in a busy season need something with minimal time commitment to stay consistent, look no further.

When Jon announced the program, I was excited to sign up not just because of the actual physical activity but because of the approach.

I have been struggling with consistency in my physical practice for quite some time and the simple act of daily hanging and squatting has brought that back to some extent, but in a much calmer way than I was used to. On the physical side, I was genuinely surprised I could do the one-arm hangs. Also, my grip has improved considerably and my squat feels super comfortable.

As Above So Below was my first experience with Jon and his highly experienced and simple way of teaching - to me, the subject was the progression of a skill (in this case, both hanging and squatting).

AASB was presented as a "10 minutes a day" practice, but it turned out to be much more than that.

I committed to showing up 6 weeks, 6 days a week and with Jon's simple, but brilliant teaching technique, I didn't only build strength (shoulders, tibialis, hips, longer hanging time and painless squatting), but also the habit of showing up in all the experience I engage with.

For me this was one, if not the best movement teaching experiences I ever had the pleasure of experiencing!

I continue using the knowledge Jon shared during these weeks in my day-to-day activities, especially movement-related ones.

I feel fortunate and grateful to have spent this time upskilling, getting stronger and disciplined.

Jon’s Squat course is a thoughtfully curated blend of exercises and tasks that are not only effective but fun!

In addition to more straightforward exercises that are helpful for building a foundation of strength and balance while taking your squat skills to the next level, he also has a delightful assortment of tasks that encourage the development of spatial reasoning skills while encouraging the task undertaker to push their limits in a creative manner.

This is a great course and I highly recommend it.

I like how straightforward the Grit & Grace program is and how easy it was to track in Notion. I appreciated having several warmups to choose from, and the combination of strength exercises with a focus on range of motion.

I’ve built muscle over the course of the program and thought that paying attention to ROM contributed to better form and less muscle soreness than other programs I’ve tried. Overall, it was easy to follow and stick with, which I appreciated, and the videos were very helpful.

I'm almost finished with G&G and am really satisfied with the program.

I'm no stranger to training but struggled to stick to programs before, this one has a mix of good structure and potential for a little bit of personalization that I found worked really well for me.

The focus on both strength and range of motion has me feeling really good, both in the way I move and in a more aesthetic sense. I sincerely think that anyone interested in training with weights with a little twist would love G&G as well.

The fact that it was built on 3 different phases kept me motivated all along.

Having 4 workouts per week also sugar-coated some less enjoyable exercises, don’t want to name and shame but Bulgarian Split Squat you know who you are.

The graduation aspect of this setup had me engaged throughout it all.

Not only did I learn the dragon squat but I did so through a process that allowed me to learn about myself. It revealed imbalances and made me ache in ways I hadn't before (which is rare for me).

I love that Jon encourages you to contemplate the experience of each attempt, I think I am now a more mindful practitioner as a result and I genuinely think a better learner.

TL;DR I got a dragon squat and then some

It dramatically increased both my strength and relaxation in the positions and was surprisingly a great exploration into balance.

AASB was my daily peace of mind, a still point that allowed me to tune into my body each morning from a hanging and squatting perspective. A breath of fresh air to create space in your body and mind. Jon’s guidance and supportive energy is a gift everyone should be able to experience.

As Above, So Below is a genuinely unique training experience. Its structure ensures that it melds into your everyday routine with ease, while gently layering challenges that become more absurd over the six-week period. The result of which is magically improved grip strength, soft open hips and a scout badge to the soul for grit. Jon’s methods encourage patience and attention to detail, every time the difficulty of tasking increases it feels like a first date with your body full of awkward conversations that start with “I didn’t know you were into that..” or “I didn’t know you could(not) do that”. You have time to process what is happening while it happens and think logically and peaceably about what you have gotten yourself into.

The experience was humbling, encouraging and such a delight.

If you are interested in your body I would recommend this course. If you need something new to do in the mornings I would recommend this course and if you are tickled by the idea of learning cool-looking tricks I would also, most definitely recommend this course.

Starting this journey into spinal waves has totally rocked my world. I cannot recommend this course enough. If you have a spine, do yourself a favor and get on board.

This course was a thrilling dive deep into a shining sea of squats and smiling quads! Bottoms Up made me clearly stronger and more connected with my body.

Jon is amazingly knowledgeable, very clear with his instructions and he doesn't forget to have a laugh and make it fun!

With all that said, I'd warmly recommend this course to anyone who wants to be stronger, healthier, more confident, aware, and fine-tuned. Who doesn't? So go take these loving dives to the bottoms and up, you won't regret it!

Bottoms Up squat program has improved my strength, stability, and balance. My calves became stronger every week. The tasks are fun, creative, and challenging.

Every week instructions were clear and if I was in doubt, Jon was always available.

At the end of the course, I could see clear results, in my ankles, knee,s and hips. A deeper squat, no dragon squa,t and solid sissy squats.

Grit & Grace was a great program for a few reasons. I like the simplicity in the setup only requiring dumbbells and the detail of the explanations. The videos for each exercise were really great for learning the exercises. It consists of a couple “necessary” exercises and a few additional ones so when the energy and time is there for it I can do more.

My favorite thing is that it’s simple in its design and not too many exercises but it still a complete program in the sense that it hits everything. I also felt stronger and more flexible even after only going through part of the program.

Grit & Grace was exactly what I needed.

The workouts were clearly focused on areas of the body in ways that felt like very functional strength training, with plenty of mobility moves mixed in.

I appreciated the optional components, and the permission to include or skip these bonus moves when I was short on time!

I learned to love a bunch of new moves (jefferson curl, pigeon at the couch), and had a successful experience of fitting workouts into my days more often because I didn't need a full hour to exercise thoroughly!

Not only is the course superbly and elegantly designed, but the minimalist yet potent instructions and drills were effective for a busy schedule. I enjoyed the progress I made and the education I received in four weeks.

As I consider things in my life such as how to defy the laws of getting older it seems to make more and more sense that the more I feed my body things such as “As above, So below” it shows how quickly the body can adapt and make significant improvements in areas you may not be paying attention to. In this 6 week process, my body has become so much more comfortable, bendable, stretchable, aware,e and even stronger. I’m so happy I participated in this program and am so looking forward to what is next. Im filled with ideas now of how to continue this work!! Thank you @yuenjon for the work you do!!

Jon crafts an invitingly accessible program infused with intelligent design and structure.

His attention to detail is evident throughout the 6-week course, from the intended purpose behind the AASB offerings, (finding a home in hangs and squats), to the weekly high-quality video demonstrations and thoughtful explanations.

Hangs and squats are never positioned as tricks but rather as entryways into a personal practice of presence and receptivity.

A wise investment of my time and energy. Highly recommended!

I joined AASB to improve my squatting and hanging skills, but you tricked me into learning patience. I mean, to surrender to the speed at which reality unfolds and resist the pressure to race through online courses (or whatever else I do in a day really), is a skill that I did not ask for.

But here I am.

Now I have this unwanted superpower that allows me to enter more fully into experiences. Thanks, Jon.

Jon Yuen’s spinal wave course is a delightful journey that takes us through the peaceful forest of guided movement and doesn’t fall into the dry and formulaic “online fitness course” design.

Jon's squat course has to be one of the best and most creative lower body courses that I have had the pleasure of taking.

Not only does Jon have a great understanding of what it takes to create a solid foundation to build upon, but he is also incredibly creative and it makes for a lot of challenging fun.

If you want to develop a better, stronger, and more mobile squat… This is the course for you. Even if you have a strong and mobile squat, this is still the course for you.

You will not regret it.

Regardless of your background in movement, Jon's Bottoms Up course is an absolute joy to dive into. Jon made all the exercises look easy in the tutorial videos, but I was happy to quickly discover that every single one of the exercises had an abundance of challenges for me.

Being challenged in a fun and active way has greatly boosted my own mental motivation and inspiration besides improving my physical skills.

All the movement patterns were clearly instructed verbally and demonstrated and never left me with any questions or confusion.

If you are looking for inspiration, deeper body awareness, more space, and grace while also improving strength and balance…

Then what are you waiting for?

It’s been a really great experience and probably the program I’ve had the easiest time sticking with.

I definitely feel stronger and motivated to keep up the habit of taking care of my body, that you’ve helped me build.
